About Butte County CERT

Our Mission

The Butte County Community Emergency Response Team (BCCERT) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that falls under the Butte County Sheriff's Office umbrella. The BCCERT organization enhances the Sheriff's mission by providing services to the citizens of Butte County during emergencies.

BCCERT educates the public regarding emergency preparedness at community events and other outreach programs. During emergencies BCCERT assists the Sheriff's Office with logistical and operational support. BCCERT members aid in issuing emergency notifications across different emergency notification systems and offer other community support given the need.

CERT is a nation-wide program, formalized in 1993 by the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA). BCCERT was formed in 2020.
